This photo shoot might have only taken an hour but it was packed full of fun!
John and Leah live down the street from my sister in Catonsville and asked if I would be willing to do a family photo session for them. I think I waited about .03 seconds before saying "YES" Their 10-month-old Johnny is just one of the happiest babies you will ever meet. I'm pretty sure I've never seen him cry. That, coupled with his parent's fun and laid back nature, leads to a fun time whenever I have the pleasure of their company. This photo shoot was no exception. We decided to take the photos on the trolley trail that runs between Catonsville and historic Ellicott City. It's paved which makes it easy for stroller travel and has lots of great little areas to stop and take some pictures. A happy family is always the easiest to photograph, and all three members were all smiles the whole time. Johnny was a trooper and gave me lots of little grins and giggles to capture and John and Leah did a great job of working with me and with Johnny. This was my first time photographing a ten-month-old and in case you don't have one in your life- to say they are on the move is an understatement! Johnny is so curious about everything and since he officially has the ability to get where he wants to go, I would get maybe one or two clicks in before he was off the blanket and heading to the next thing that caught his eye! It was a great challenge, and like I said, he was so happy, so those first few clicks were all I really needed. I had a blast with this little family and hope to work with them again in future!

Summer is certainly the season of weddings. One week ago, I photographed my second. And what a fun wedding it was!
The day was so full of smiles and laughs. It was extremely contagious. Hannah and Jon had their ceremony and reception at a residential home in Mt. Airy. To say the house was built for weddings is an understatement. With a big backyard, and a scenic view of rolling hills, the backdrop for Hannah and Jon's special day was perfect. I had such a great time photographing Jon, Hannah, and their wedding party. We took lots of great shots, and lots of goofy shots, including some of Jon and Hannah on a giant trampoline! I especially love those. After we finished taking photos, the reception began! From dancing to cupcakes to more dancing, the fun never really stopped. I had a few moments where I was reminded why I do this- getting to share in all the love and fun of such a special day. I know Hannah, Jon, and of course Hannah's adorable son Logan, are going to have a wonderful life together and I feel so lucky I got to share their wedding day! |
