What better way to mix up the holiday family sessions than with an engagement session!
The next time you see Jen and Brandon on this page, they'll look a lot warmer! I'll be shooting their wedding this coming August, and they opted for a wintery, holiday engagement shoot. I found myself back at the Lakefront across from Columbia mall just before sunset. We got some stunning pictures by the water, and it was clear they didn't feel the chill even a bit. We had a great time. I was surprised to discover halfway through the shoot that neither one of them had ever done a photo shoot of any kind. They were naturals! My favorite part of engagement shoots is capturing genuine smiles and laughter and there was more than enough of that to go around. After the sun set, we headed to historic Ellicott City to get some photos with some of the Christmas decorations. I had trouble deciding which location to use for my blog photo because I loved how they both turned out! I'm really looking forward to their wedding day. I have a feeling it's going to be a fun one.

The holidays continue!
It's been tough getting into the holiday spirit the last two winters with all of our warm weather, and today continued that trend. With the sun shining bright, I made my way up north and down the back roads to rural Harford County. With the weather warm enough for little Eleana to go barefoot, it was tough to remember that Christmas is only a few short weeks away, but the Appelt's festive attire kept us in the holiday spirit. We stayed about as local as you can get; taking pictures in and around their lovely country home. There were lots of smiles to go around, and I just know they are going to look great on their Christmas cards. |
